KCT Shipping: Sailing to New Shore

History

For nearly three decades, KCT has been chartering vessels in voyage mode for its rail cum sea operations in the coastal movements. These movements are done through long term or short term contracts. However, in February 2021 a shipping desk has been formed and vessels are being hired on a smart market basis time chartering cum operating.

Evolution

After focussing on the Voyage Chartering method for the initial period, the shipping division of KCT has forayed into the Time Chartering method around two and half years ago. This enables us to offer the charterer a competitive price along with assured delivery of cargo on time. The chartering agreement lists the ports of call, destination, and restrictions on cargo. It is a matter of great pride that the division has already achieved the "First Class Charterer cum Operator" status by the various shipowners, charterers and brokers it is working with across the globe within a very short span of time.

Achievements

We have also successfully completed international shipments with third-party cargoes, transporting Indian thermal coal through the Indian coastal route. Despite being a newbie in Time Chartering, KCT has already become a known name in the global shipowners and shipping market.

KCT shipping division moves cargo in all possible sizes of vessels from Panamax/ Kamsarmax & Supramax vessels to large Capesize vessels.
